Hitachi Touro Mobile Pro 500GB Hard Drive
The Hitachi Touro Mobile Pro is a great device but it also offers some-thing a little different than most of its competitors. And that is two levels of protection for your data by not only storing it locally on your drive, but also backing it up to the cloud with preloaded software. This means you can access your files, photos and music anytime and anywhere you want to. And upgrading to a paid account will give you iPhone and Ipad mobile digital device apps along with 250GB of storage.
Double protection can’t be bad!
Hitachi Lifestudio
Essentially the Hitachi LifeStudio comes in three parts, a 500GB hard drive, a 4GB USB drive and the docking station that consolidates them all together to connect to your PC or Mac. The USB key comes with a 4GB memory card but the good thing with it is you can upgrade to a 32GB card giving a significant increase in memory.
The drive comes with back up software as well as an online backup service. The local software will backup to the drive itself while the online utility will give access to 3GB on Hitachi’s servers. As is becoming the norm these days, a subscription will give you access to 250GB in “the cloud” should you require this extra protection. The way the USB memory works is that there is a sync utility in the software whereby if you make a change or add a file to a folder on your system that you have chosen to sync, any changes are updated on the USB memory. You can also nominate whether you want the stick or system to take precedence, or any changes affect both.
The main feature of the LifeStudio is that it searches and catalogues all your many photo, video, and music files and then presents them in in a scrolling view where they are shown by date. All those difficult numeric names become greatly less annoying as a result and an added bonus is that the software can access your online digital files on Flickr, Facebook and the like.
This drive is really aimed at those people who take a large amount of photos and videos and want a quick way of keeping track of all the files and a utility for backing them up. The USB key provides extra protection and portability so that you can always have those important files with you at all times.
